Yum*Pop by kittendrumstick Yum*Pop by kittendrumstick
Something I did for [link] - I saw their character Yum*Pop and had to draw her, I love the colors and cute accessories and everything. There was no way I could draw the insane amount of stuff she wears (mostly just because I donít have forever to spend on drawings like this or I totally would) so this feels kind of empty to me still. A lot of the details I DID put in donít even show up this small, haha. Oh well.

EEE OMG O3O I don't even know what to say, this is crazy awesome! thank you so much for taking the time to make this beautiful picture <3 you're the first person besides saturnine and I to draw her updated look too, so it's extra special. and seriously, she looks really great - it's completely fine to not make her encrusted with accessories to the level I usually do, I think the amount you added is perfect and I really like the detail present in the ones you chose (like her candy necklace + bracelet, pony necklace, the stuff in her ears, her bandaids, and that sweet little yellow bow in her tail). and I love the folds and layering on her skirt, how you rendered both her regular hair and dreads, and... those shoes. shooting star buckles oh god so amazing.

again - thank you! everything is spot on and you captured her perfectly, even down to the pose. and as an aside, it took me a second after seeing your comment on yum's ref but I definitely remember you! I think I knew of you through jolyn and lee*lee back like... 10 years ago. XD

Thank you! I had a lot of fun drawing it and the character is so cool, there's no way I could resist, haha. I did actually put more detail into her makeup but I guess saving it smaller ate it or something, so I can totally send you a bigger version if you want. Or I could just go back and make everything more obvious, but I need to stop finding excuses to make changes to things I draw once I'm done with them.

And jeez, yeah, that was forever ago! I'm not entirely surprised I'm still posting animal people art to the internet, but I still don't know how I feel about it sometimes, haha. It's nice seeing art from you guys again, though! It's changed a lot but is still recognizable as you, which is cool.

ohhh I'd love to see a bigger version! you can link or email it (saturnine.antique[at]gmail.com), whatever is easier for you. it'd be super neat to oogle all the little stuff that's more visible in the bigger size. *_* I also wanted to ask, would it be okay to upload this to the guest art part of yum☆pop's character page at nabyn? with credit and a link back, of course.

and I know, right? we both stopped drawing anthro stuff around 05/06 and didn't think we'd go back to it ever really but... now here we are XD I don't know how to feel about it either sometimes, but hey animal people are a good way to take a break from/not get burnt out on our usual style of art, and I've actually been having fun getting to play with different species and markings and that kind of stuff again so it's all good.

Ok, sent! And yeah, feel free to upload it there if you want :D

Yeah, I kind of did the same. I think right before I started college I started getting annoyed with it because there was SO much drama linked to stupid animal people art (when you're a teenager and all of your friends are teenage girls and internet fans, That Shit Happens) and then college happened and I was like "dude this is dumb as hell I should be doing something cool." Then I got actual jobs doing art and it's exactly like you said. I spend all day working on ~serious business~ stuff and sometimes just need to draw something dumb and fun to take a break, so I ended up going back to it a bit, haha. I figure practice is practice, and as long as I'm doing SOMETHING it's better than not drawing at all or only doing work and nothing else.

this is too freaking cute, her pose and outfit and everything~ she actually has socks similar to those but with bats on them xD those shoes NEED TO EXIST 4 SRSLY.
you did her mad justice!!
dude idfk how she does it either. lots and lots and loooots of time. i dont even know how i do it sometimes, which is kind of ridiculous considering i put the same amount of detail in my other artwork.. i think it's all them colors... after awhile everything starts blurring into some horrible melting candy vomiting rainbows e trip fairy-kei NIGHTMARE and you just gotta stop. lol x__x

Thanks! And oh my god yeah, I know what you mean. One of the reasons I wanted to draw her was because of all the crazy details but then if I didn't stop I'd probably still be working on this forever D: Though I think part of that is just because my own personal fashion is pretty simple. I have to give props to people who dress like this for real and can pull it off because I think I would just lose my shit if I tried, haha.
